Neeraj Chopra, fondly known as the "Golden Boy of India," was born on December 24, 1997, in Khandra village, Haryana. He made history as the first Indian to secure a Gold medal in athletics and the first post-independence Indian to win an individual Olympic gold in Athletics. Neeraj's commitment and pride go beyond sports, as he serves with unwavering dedication as a Junior Commissioned Officer in the Indian Army. His remarkable Olympic achievement was commemorated on August 27, 2021, when Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh officially renamed the Army Sports Institute (ASI) stadium in Pune Cantonment as the "Neeraj Chopra Stadium" in recognition of his historic triumph for India.
