Yorgos Lanthimos directed the film "Kinds of Kindness," streaming on Myflixer Movies, which premiered at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival. This anthology movie consists of three distinct stories, all set in Louisiana where the filming took place. Lanthimos is renowned for creating unconventional films that explore the darker aspects of human behavior. Many of his works also delve into themes of polyamory and sexual fluidity. "Kinds of Kindness" pushes the boundaries even further, offering a more extreme and intricate narrative compared to Lanthimos' previous award-winning films, "The Favourite" and "Poor Things." Notably, some cast members from these earlier films also appear in "Kinds of Kindness." The three stories in "Kinds of Kindness" are titled "The Death of R.M.F.," "R.M.F. Is Flying," and "R.M.F. Eats a Sandwich." Each story features the main actors portraying different characters, with Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons, Willem Dafoe, Margaret Qualley, Hong Chau, Joe Alwyn, and Mamoudou Athie rotating as the star cast members in each narrative. Stone and Plemons receive the most screen time, while Hunter Schafer has a smaller role in "R.M.F. Eats a Sandwich." The film takes its time to unravel the motives of its central protagonists, creating an air of suspense and intrigue. However, this approach has its pros and cons. Viewers with shorter attention spans may find themselves growing weary of the constant guessing games and fragmented storytelling in "Kinds of Kindness." At times, they may question the direction of each story, wondering where it is ultimately headed. If the first story fails to captivate, it is likely that the rest of the movie may not resonate with those viewers either.

In "The Death of R.M.F.," Robert Fletcher  and his wife Sarah are an ordinary middle-class couple. Despite not having children, they have been attempting to start a family. Sarah has experienced multiple pregnancies but unfortunately suffered miscarriages. Robert is employed in an unspecified industry, working in an office environment where he is required to dress in business attire. His boss, Raymond, is a strict and controlling figure. The relationship between Robert and Raymond spans a decade. Raymond's desire for dominance over certain individuals in his life becomes evident. He dictates what Robert and Sarah can eat, when they can engage in sexual activities, and even instructs Robert to gain weight. Robert is expected to report daily on his compliance with Raymond's directives, which he does willingly. However, there is one particular demand from Raymond that Robert struggles to fulfill: Raymond orders Robert to cause a fatal car crash by intentionally colliding with another vehicle. Raymond claims that the crash has been orchestrated by a suicidal individual, whose car will be struck by Robert's. Robert is required to obtain details about the car and the intended victim beforehand. Robert is hesitant to carry out this deadly order from Raymond. Early in the film, R.M.F. is depicted as the victim of a car crash caused by Robert. The consequences of this event unfold throughout the narrative. Vivian, Raymond's partner, is complicit in these sinister suicide schemes. She is tasked with meeting the future crash victims and taking photos for Raymond's approval. As the story progresses, it is revealed that Raymond exerts control over Robert, Vivian, and others through manipulation and rare collectibles. Additionally, it is implied that Robert is engaged in a sexual relationship with Raymond, further complicating the power dynamics at play.

In the story "R.M.F. Is Flying," Daniel and Neil are not only best friends but also dedicated police officers who work side by side. Their friendship extends beyond the workplace, as Daniel and his wife Liz share a close bond with Neil and his wife Martha, often spending quality time together at each other's homes. However, as the plot unfolds, a shocking revelation comes to light - the two couples are actually involved in a unique lifestyle known as swinging, engaging in intimate foursome orgies that they even document on video. At the outset of the narrative, Liz mysteriously disappears during a deep-sea exploration expedition. Fortunately, she is eventually discovered on a secluded island and successfully rescued via helicopter. Upon her return home following a brief hospital stay, Daniel notices a peculiar detail - Liz seems to struggle with putting on her shoes, as her feet appear slightly larger than usual. Liz dismisses this as mere swelling. As the story progresses, Daniel becomes increasingly convinced that the person claiming to be his wife Liz is, in fact, an imposter. He questions his own sanity, wondering if he is merely imagining things or if his suspicions hold any truth. Adding to the complexity, Liz's father George disapproves of Daniel's cold and distant behavior towards Liz since her rescue. George's supportive wife Sharon, portrayed by Chao, plays a crucial role in the unfolding events. Additionally, Alwyn makes a brief appearance in the movie as a defiant and intoxicated passenger in a car that Daniel pulls over for reckless driving.

In the story "R.M.F. Eats a Sandwich," Emily and Andrew embark on a relentless quest to find the woman who saved Emily from drowning in a swimming pool. Initially, Emily and Andrew appear to be a couple, but it is eventually revealed that they are part of a polyamorous sex cult led by a dominant figure named Omi. Omi holds the power to decide which members of the cult engage in sexual activities with them and when. A mother named AKA plays a significant role as a "tastemaker" within the cult. Emily is characterized as an extremely driven individual, exhibiting reckless behavior as she speeds, swerves, and skids around in a dark purple Dodge Challenger, reminiscent of a demolition derby race. Her impatience and rudeness are evident in her relentless pursuit. The motivation behind her search stems from her belief in the special abilities possessed by her rescuer. In this narrative, Qualley portrays identical twins Rebecca and Ruth, while Schafer takes on the role of Anna, a woman who undergoes examination by Emily in a hospital but is swiftly dismissed as not being the woman Emily seeks. Alwyn portrays Joseph, Emily's estranged husband, who has custody of their unnamed daughter, approximately 7 or 8 years old. Athie plays the character of an unnamed morgue nurse.
