Electronic Arts and Activision have already stated that they will not have booths at the E3 floor of the 2016 show And now, two other major companies have confirmed they will not either.GamesBeat has learned it is the case that Disney Interactive (Disney Infinity) and WoW Cataclysm Classic (WoW cataclysm Gold) will not be exhibiting on the booths this year.
Disney Interactive did not say the reason it will not have an exhibit space at the show this year. The company has no plans to launch a brand new Disney Infinity mainline product this year, which could be because Disney does not want to shell out money on booth space. The company instead, Disney plans to update the current Disney Infinity 3.0 with new characters and content all through the calendar. We've contacted Disney to find out more information.
WoW Cataclysm Classic, on the other hand, stated in the statement that E3 "doesn't align with our current strategy." "From an organizational perspective we're focused on a vast majority of our activities around events that focus on our community and players," the studio said. "Whether it's a tiny group of players or a large number of people at one of our gatherings for players we'll make sure they're our top priority."From the business standpoint, E3 just doesn't fit our current goals. It's a show extremely centered around retail products and, as a free-to-play digital download gaming company we've come to the conclusion that, while E3 could be an ideal choice for many other developers and publishers but it's not currently an ideal match for us. We also, of course, we are grateful for all that the ESA performs through their legislative efforts and in their efforts to bring up and debate concerns about gaming as a business or hobby as well as a lifestyle."
Disney Interactive and WoW Cataclysm Classic are both part of the entertainment Software Association, a group which hosts E3 each calendar year, and represents industry's needs in Washington. ESA the senior vice-president of communication Rich Taylor told GamesBeat that E3 "remains an active and important and prestigious event."
