K-pop girl group 'StayC' stage costume criticized by NYT Why?

The New York Times (NYT) published a playful article online today (Nov. 24), urging K-pop girl group STAYC to pay attention to their stage outfits.

The article, written by NYT sports reporter Victor Mather, recounted a hilarious incident in which STAYC, which is currently performing in the United States, wore the wrong stage outfit in Dallas, Texas.

STAYC, a six-member girl group that debuted in November 2020, is currently on its first world tour, starting in Seoul on the 23rd of this month and traveling to major U.S. cities, Taiwan, and Singapore.

As STAYC travels to each city in the U.S., they take the stage in costumes of sports teams with ties to the area, but Meider pointed out that there was a problem with the "Rangers" jerseys they wore at their Dallas concert on the 19th.

The Rangers are the Texas-based Major League Baseball team, but the actual jerseys worn by some members of the group were from the Glasgow Rangers, a professional soccer team in Scotland, United Kingdom.

However, Mather reports that no one seems to be taking Stacy's mistake seriously.

A local Scottish newspaper reported that "Glasgow fans are celebrating," and Texas Rangers fans were more amused than offended.

Mather suggested that fans of the Los Angeles (LA) Kings ice hockey team should wear black and silver jerseys for the team's upcoming show in Los Angeles on September 29.

They shouldn't wear the red jerseys of the Punjab Kings, an Indian cricket team. 슬롯
