Gunner Henderson of the Baltimore Orioles and Corbin Carroll of the Arizona Diamondbacks were unanimously named the 2023 Major League Baseball (MLB) Rookies of the Year in both leagues.

MLB.com, the official website of Major League Baseball, announced the winners of the MLB Rookie of the Year awards on Thursday. Henderson was named the American League (AL) Rookie of the Year, while Carroll was named the National League (NL) Rookie of the Year.

Both Henderson and Carroll made their debuts last year, but appeared in only 34 and 32 games, respectively, and were eligible for Rookie of the Year honors this year with 130 at-bats and 45 days or less of service time (MLB roster time).

According to the Baseball Writers Association of America (BBWAA), the Baltimore infielder was a unanimous AL Rookie of the Year, receiving 30 first-place votes (150 points).

It is the 13th time in history that the AL Rookie of the Year voting has been unanimous.

Cleveland Cavaliers pitcher Tanner Bybee, who received 20 second-place votes and seven third-place votes for 67 points, finished second.

In his first full season this year, Henderson played in 150 games, batting .255 with 28 home runs, 82 RBIs, and an OPS of .814, helping the team win the AL East.

Henderson is the eighth time a Baltimore player has won Rookie of the Year honors. It has been 34 years since a Baltimore player won Rookie of the Year since Greg Olson in 1989.

Arizona outfielder Carroll was also a unanimous NL Rookie of the Year, receiving 30 first-place votes (150 points) in the BBWAA balloting.

It's only the fifth time in history that the AL and NL have had a unanimous Rookie of the Year at the same time. It's been six years since Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees in the AL and Cody Bellinger of the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NL were unanimous winners in 2017.

It is the 14th time in history that the NL Rookie of the Year voting has been unanimous.

New York Mets Japanese pitcher Godai Senga finished second with 71 points, including 22 second-place votes and five third-place votes.

In 2023, Carroll played in 155 games, batting .285 with 25 home runs, 76 RBI, 54 doubles, and an OPS of .868.

Corbin became the first player to win Rookie of the Year for Arizona. 슬롯사이트
